Record class Waterbucks shot by father and son on same safari
Most hunters dream about bagging a record class trophy of the particular species they are hunting. On a recent exclusive family safari with us, both the father and his son had a strong desire to collect a large Waterbuck, and most unusually, they actually succeeded in doing just that; both shot world-class trophies of this highly desired species.
Near our own Klipplaat grounds we have access to a large hunting area which provides an ideal biotope for Waterbuck. The area comprises large grassy flats intersected by water-rich rivers, which often overflows unto the flats. High slopes covered in dense vegetation surround the flatland. After several days of hard hunting we were successful in locating not one, but two unusually large Waterbucks at short intervals. Father and son both got their dream trophies after some exciting hunting and excellent shooting in difficult terrain.
The subsequent measuring of the trophies revealed that they scored high in the SCI All Times Greatest Top 10 and Top 25 respectively.
