Helicopter Transport

VIP helicopter service

Side by Side Safaris' exclusive safari lodge now has its own helicopter landing pad. We are pleased, therefore, to announce that we are now able to offer fast and safe transfer by helicopter from and to the airport – or during the safari. Several of our guests have already taken advantage of this service.

Short transport time

By helicopter, the transport time from and to Port Elizabeth International Airport is reduced to only 30-45 minutes. By car, the same journey takes approximately three hours. We have handpicked some of the most experienced helicopter pilots from Cape Town for this service.

Pick-up at airport

If our guests wish to make use of the helicopter service, one of the owners of Side by Side Safaris together with the helicopter pilot will pick-up the guests at the airport upon arrival. From the arrivals hall the party then go straight to the waiting helicopter and a few moments later they will be on their way to the lodge.

Full helicopter service

Upon arrival at the lodge, the helicopter will normally return to Port Elizabeth straight away. It will then come back to pick up the guests from the lodge on departure day. If our guests wish to make use of the helicopter during the safari, this can of course be arranged.

Prices for helicopter service

Depending on the number of passengers, we normally use one of two different helicopter models:

Robinson 44 (max. 3 passengers)

Total: 3300 Euro

AS350 Squirrel (max. 5 passengers)

Airport – Lodge/ Lodge – Airport

Total: 9100 Euro
