Side by Side Safaris introduces substantially lower trophy fees on all the popular game animals in order to secure a better balance among the individual game populations.
Since Side by Side Safaris took over the beautiful Klipplaat grounds in the Eastern Cape Province some eight years ago, the populations of all the popular game species have steadily increased in numbers. Immediately, this can be seen as a very positive development – but, as the saying goes: No roses without thorns.
A significant contributing factor to the steady increase in numbers of the game populations is a dedicated and continuous effort on our part on improving the habitat and bettering the general living conditions for the game animals. At the same time, a strict selective shooting policy has facilitated a vital balance between the number of killed animals – trophy or non-trophy – and the ability of the grounds to sustain a continuous growth in the number of shootable trophies. An important tool in securing this vital balance has been trophy fees. The trophy fees have undoubtedly served as a behavior regulator – directly or indirectly – for ourselves as well as our many visiting safari guests.
We are confident that the situation is now stable enough to allow for an increase in the harvesting of most of the popular game species. Consequently, we are pleased to announce a new pricelist with substantially lower trophy fees for most of the species that we offer. In order to ensure that the game populations are kept at a sound and sustainable level, we simply need make sure that we take out a balanced, greater number of trophy animals.
With the new, lower trophy fees our safari guests now get the best value for money on accommodation and catering offered on the market today. Indeed they now also get the most attractive trophy fees. The new trophy fee pricelist applies effective 1st March 2019. The new prices apply regardless if you are booked on a luxury safari with accommodation at our 6-star "Mountain Lodge" – or at our new no nonsense 4-star "River Lodge".
