Side by Side Safaris' lodge is beautifully situated high on hill with a magnificent view over the Klipplaat terrain. Immediately below the lodge there is a large pond where the game come to feed and drink. On the hillsides surrounding the lodge there is plenty of activity with game such as Kudu, Mountain Reedbuck, duikers, etc., in addition to monkeys, dassies and a great variation of birds.
Relax and enjoy
Our newly built lodge provides luxurious hospitality in beautiful surroundings. The architecture borrows elements from native South African village dwellings while offering all modern conveniences to our guests. The lodge consists of spacious guest houses, each with a private terrace with outdoor Jacuzzi and only a few steps to a delightful swimming pool which appears to connect straight on to the deep blue sky.
Centrally among the guest houses is the "Lapa", the main house of the lodge where you will find a small library, a well-stocked bar, dining facilities and an open fireplace. This is where we usually gather for a chat and a drink after an exciting day's hunting, and this is where all meals are normally served.
Exclusively for you and your party
When you book a safari with us you can be certain that you will not have to share the lodge facilities with other safari guest; the entire lodge is reserved exclusively for you and your party. This way, we can devote all our attention to making the stay at our lodge a memorable experience in every way for yourself and your party.
Gourmet food every day
We want you to experience each day at our lodge as a total experience – also when it concerns the meals that we serve you. That it why we have employed a well-known gourmet chef, normally based in Cape Town, to cook all the main meals for our safari guests. This is haute cuisine which leaves nothing to be desired; an experience in itself.
Needless to say, our wine "cellar" is well stocked with some of the finest wines from the best South African wine producers – wines that are certain to do the meals full justice.
Wellness
Whether you are a hunter or a non-hunting companion, a full-body massage is an invigorating luxury for all.
We have a close co-operation with a highly skilled local wellness therapist who offer massages and other kinds of wellness treatments – for instance manicure and pedicure – for both women and men.
The treatments can be given at the lodge, in your private cottage, or outside on your terrace or at poolside.
Valet service
As a guest at our lodge, a staff of four service assistants is at your disposal, in reality around the clock. They are responsible for keeping your cottage clean and inviting with a freshly made bed and clean towels.
They also take care of your laundry daily. This means that you do not need to bring a lot of clothes and worry about baggage weight, there will always be a fresh set of clothes ready for you. Shoes and boots are cleaned and polished every day – or more often, if necessary. A small luxury that contributes to making your stay with us a memorable one.
Danish PHs
Side by Side Safaris is a Danish family-owned business and it is important to us that our guests feel that they are well taken care of in every respect when they hunt with us.
We offer to accompany you on your journey from your departure airport all the way to arrival at our lodge. If you do not require this service, we will under all circumstances pick you up at the Port Elizabeth airport.
Your PH is Danish, normally either the owners, Flemming or Bjørn G. Jensen. Both are very experienced hunters and guides with an intimate knowledge of the game and the terrains where you will be hunting. Both communicate fluently in English, German, Swedish and Danish.
