Book now for big Kudu during the 2019 rut

We are pleased to announce that we had an unusually successful season for Kudus in 2018 –particularly during the rut. The big Kudu bulls come into rut at the beginning of May and the rut usually lasts 3-4 weeks where the big bulls join up with the groups of females.

During this year's rut, which began around 10th May, we encountered more really big bulls than ever before. Kudus occur naturally on our Klipplaat grounds and it is clear to us that our restrictive hunting policy on Kudus is a success. Consequently, we foresee that within the next few years, Side by Side Safaris will be among the safari destinations in the South Africa's Eastern Cape province with the largest population of Eastern Cape Kudu.

If your dream trophy is a large Kudu bull, your chances will be greatly enhanced if you book your hunt for the Kudu's rutting season. The rutting season in 2018 was fully booked and if you want to be a part of the unique experience in 2019, we suggest that you book your hunt already now. Kudu bulls are huntable all year round but nothing beats hunting them during the rut.
